This has been one of my favorite photos thus far, taken at the MIFC (Malaysian International Fireworks Competition) in 2007 at Putrajaya, it was my first time shooting fireworks while still relatively new to my Canon 400D.
Tip: Use a steady tripod, pre-focus on a distant object while anticipating for the fireworks to go off, use long exposures of 5 seconds or BULB mode, use a small aperture and low ISO.
This was taken back during Chinese New Year when Kek Lok Si had over a thousand lanterns lighted up at night. To make things a bit more interesting I tried out the Starburst technique, after many failed attempts I finally got a more satisfied result.
Tip: steady hands and tripod required, don’t zoom in too fast to avoid camera shake

Smoke and light from the burning joss-sticks create a moody feel while the red chinese lantern at the back adds some color to the overall scene.
Tip: Sometimes dark is good, imagine this photo brightly lit! You won’t be able to see the smoke trails clearly and the mood will be totally different!

Huge mirrors were built to allow passers-by to stop by and ‘try’ out individual clothing in a shopping mall.
Stickers were placed in selected car park locations and car workshops where M-Tech Plasma HID lights are sold in Malaysia. It delivers the message that these headlights are 300% brighter than regular headlights. The burn-effect sticker from the headlights really leaves an impression.
